After an exciting and participatory mock trial project the final jury verdict was split, which in the law we call a “hung jury” regarding whether it was unreasonable for Martin Memorial to transfer Luis after assuming the duty of care. The judges agreed however that although it was unkind to send Luis back to Guatemala, without insurance or changes in the US immigration and health care policies in Congress, there is little more Martin Memorial could have done. Thank you for a wonderful project!
